My father returned from England on the SS Strathnaver which departed Southampton on teh 28th November 1939 and arrived in Sydney on the 4th January 1940. Was this voyage one with Britain's child migrants...??

So very sad. I am proud of the children for the best they could do.

When I think about them being told Australia was going to be great and going there to find themselves basically used as slave labour, it sickens me.

Thank you Australia for saying sorry.

Mixed feelings regarding the exhibition. Some found the "new world" and some were truly traumatised by it all. Have a thought for the millions of children who were left in England to struggle through years of misery and abuse. Thought provoking!
